Ive never been a fan of doing songs about politics, and moreso, any specific tragedy. Mainly because I feel like some artists only do them with selfish intent. Plus, Im a firm believer in “if you want to help…go help.”  Sometimes a song just dont cut it. But this was a good project because it brought together a lot of artists in Wilmington NC that normally wouldnt have sat at the same table. It was made shortly after Hurricane Katrina, through the efforts of Louis T. Doc Bless, and Bigg B.  The Song  played in rotation every year to mark the tragic dates, and became a staple request on Coast 97.3fm.

The track was produced by D1, with the hook provided by Daniel “Real Love” Dickey. The artists,  in order of appearance are:  Exile, Maja League, J Quinn, S. Lee, KYD, and Motherfreakin Haji P, son!

peace.
