Ma, remember that time when I was in the fourth grade, and I lied to you about my behavior in school? And somehow, you employed your wizard-like, motherly superpowers and found out…and then pulled me out of a three day field trip to Camp Erdman, just as I was boarding the bus? Completely embarrassing me in front of the entire fourth grade class? Well…I forgive you.
And in honor of this day, this magnificent date on the calendar, in which God gathered all his best people parts and dumped them into a 5’0″ casing of mommy, I would like to wish you a happy birthday. With a poem…

Who was there when I had headaches as little P, crying and hurt bad ? Mommy.
Rubbed my forehead til I drooled all over her good work pants. Mommy.
Who still buys me the coolest underwear a guy can ask for? Mommy.
Batman, Charlie Brown, and the robot cars that transform. Mommy.
Who laughed at my runaway attempt, called it pathetic at best? Mommy.
And knew the whole time my black behind was hiding under the steps. Mommy.
Who said, “No, you may not hang out with Greg or roll with John!” ?Mommy.
“Not untill your lazy butt goes outside to mow the lawn!” Mommy.
Who tried to keep a straight face with the plumber boys on the phone. Mommy.
When we had to tell them we found a dead squirell in our toilet bowl. Mommy.
Who continually asks me when Im’a get married and get some babies? Mommy.
Cause you want some grandkids, but you also got a daughter who can spit out some kids too! Mommy.
